Who is…Gurland?

All right…so, my latest project at work is ungoing a bit of “funding restructuring” and I figured “This is a perfect time to make some updates to the trusty Comic Data Base.” As I hadn’t done anything on it since 1998, there are alot of improvements to make.
Now…the problem. My old system wasn’t as great as I wanted creator wise - the list had stuff like “Moore” and “Miller” whereas it really needed “Moore, Alan” and “Moore, John Francis”, etc. So, while normalzing all the creator credits I found one record that I am unable to fix:

Who is Gurland? Does anybody have any idea? I managed to find out that writer “Skrenes” was “Skrenes, Mary” and that on Ninjak #5 the credits read “Kobasic, Kevin”, whereas on Quantum & Woody #9 they say “Kobasick, Kevin” when it has to be the same guy. These books are 4 hours away at the cottage, so I can’t just flip open the issue to see if Gurland is a John, Bill, or Sue.
But who is he?

In all honesty and goofiness, I seriously don’t know who the fuck is that person old friend. Murray, why the hell do you have to ask the hard questions!!??!!

Hi there. I’m amazed that anyone has any interest in this, but yes they’re both the same, and the spelling without the second “k” is correct. I once toyed with changing the spelling of my name for reasons too boring to go into. I hope this clears up any confusion! No idea about Gurland though.
