IT’S “HAMMERTIME” for PLANET EARTH!

MC Hammer’s - WorldHit Films has inked a deal to team with NW Studios USA to develop and produce a 3-film franchise based on the manuscript BLUE PLANET, by Brazilian Author, Orlando Paes Filho.

The story with elements of STAR WARS, TERMINATOR, THE MATRIX and X-MEN finds present day earth at the core of a galactic war when a defeated general from a highly technologically advanced machine and genetics driven society uses the earth as his new base to rebuild his galactic forces in his quest for universal domination.

Hammer remarked about Blue Planet. “The story is so big, action-packed, and visual, that its arc cannot be covered in one or even two films. So we’ll take the same successful approach used for STAR WARS and LORD OF THE RINGS. Each story will deliver on its own as an act within a three-part film but the stakes will rise and all will build to a mind-blowing do-or-die climax in the third film. Blue Planet also has mass global appeal for today’s savvy PG-13 audience, and is a merchandiser’s dream”.

Lance Dow, WorldHit’s head of Creative Development has inked to pen the franchise and has turned in a draft for the first installment.

Hammer and Dow will produce along with Filho, and NW Studios’ VP’s, Vinny Tavares and Richard Bilda.

The development/production deal between the parties and on behalf of author, Filho was handled by Loeb & Loeb, LLP, Los Angeles.

The Endeavor Agency, Beverly Hills, is representing the Blue Planet franchise.
