Some interesting stuff coming up on Cartoon Network soon, as posted in one of our comment threads - figured I should post it on the main page, too.

JLU was something I already knew about, but the Judd Winick show is a bit of a suprise to me. Hope it has just half the charm and wit of Barry Ween, ’cause then it would rule pretty solid. Also pretty interested in seeing what the deal is with the Puffy Ami Yumi show. As far as J-Pop goes, they’re the only group I’ve found that interests me at all, and I downright dig on the Teen Titans theme.

Megas XLR, premieres Saturday, May 1, 9p. Megas XLR is an action-comedy series about Coop a 20-something grease monkey who discovers Megas, a giant fighting robot from the future in a New Jersey landfill. Created by Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic, is produced by Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, Calif.

Foster?s Home for Imaginary Friends, premieres with a 90min feature, Friday July 16. The series takes it regular timeslot on Fridays beginning September 3.

Justice League Unlimited, a new series feature well known and lesser known superheroes, debuts August, 2994.

From Craig McCracken, creator of The Powerpuff Girls:
Atomic Betty follows the story of Betty, a young girl living the dual life of a smart earth kid and a space traveling galactic superhero, AKA: Atomic Betty Guardian and Defender of the Cosmos. Premieres September 2004.

Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, a hit in Japan, the show features one of Japan?s biggest pop music stars as in their own animated series. Ami and Yumi will also be featured in live action segments within the show. Ami is the peppy, positive and resourceful one. Yumi is the hard-rocking, no-nonsense cynic with an infallible sense of cool. Set to debut December 2004.

The Life and Times of Juniper Lee. Juniper Lee is a typical 11-year-old girl who hangs with friends, deals with siblings and stresses about her homework schoolwork, all that and Juniper Lee must also fight the evil doers and mischief makers as dictated by her secret family history. The series is from creator Judd Winnick, will premiere in February 2005.
