The Micah Wright Experience

Huge news weekend for the comic book world over the last few days, but not from Wonder-Con as you might first guess. No, the first weekend of May belonged to Stormwatch writer Micah Wright and his admission that, despite claiming to be a Army Ranger for the last few years, he never was one. Big enough news in and of itself, but things got progressively weirder as the weekend went on. The Washington Post is involved to varying degrees depending on who you believe (them or Wright’s constantly changing stream of facts), Newsarama picked up on it early on, followed by CBR getting a little more in depth (with a little help from your’s truly). Check their pieces out for the fascinating and dirty details - it’s too much for me to rehash here.
Then, after the obvious ebay auction, things got really weird.
Seems one of Micah’s ex-girlfriends from his college days caught wind of the happenings over the weekend as well. According to the ex, Micah’s always had a tendency for scams and jokes, but they were almost always harmless, though they became progressively larger in scale. While she’s pretty amazed at the audacity he showed with the Ranger lie, she claims not to really be shocked. You can check her story out here. It’s fascinating reading, and I’m sure isn’t going to be the final piece of the Micah Wright puzzle to come to light. If anyone else comes across anything new, feel free to email us at 4CR, and we’ll post links to whatever pops up.

“Seems one of Micah’s ex-girlfriends from his college days caught wind of the happenings through a conservative website that has spent the last 2 years or so claiming Wright’s credentials were complete fiction.”
I’m not sure what you’re talking about. When has Instapundit ever said anything about Wright in the past? His site is searchable, and I don’t see any previous references to him.

Sorry about that - teach me to read and write so late at night. I was referring to the website you excerpted the letter from - http://www.kevinparrott.com/archives/000195.html - and misrepresented things. I’ll clean the phrasing up.
