According to Star Magazine’s website, the role of Superman will be filled by none other than DONNIE DARKO and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW’s Jake Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal was also once in line to portray Peter Parker back when Tobey was being iffy about reprising the role in SM2, so he’s obviously not got a problem donning some spandex for the right role. I dunno - he just doesn’t scream Man Of Tomorrow to me, what with that goofy grin and stoner look on his face. But then again, who knew Tobey Maguire would make such a kick ass Spidey, or that Michael Keaton would be the best Batman ever?
