Well, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that the Catwoman movie is going to flat out stink on ice (you can practically see the WB execs throwing themselves out of their office windows whenever the trailer plays), but what about the prerequisite tie-in properties? Well, IGN’s got an amazingly positive review of the PS2 video game. Sure, it starts off with “At first sight Catwoman appears to be one of those simplistic action combat games…”, but the review definitely picks up from there. The game is described as “both challenging and different than other comic-book games in a good way” and the character herself is “far more fluid, dexterous, and move-heavy than a lot of good action games out there.”

Ultimately, the quality of the game doesn’t really matter. Sure, it sounds like it’s the third in a row of well-received movie tie-in games (after Chronicles of Riddick and Spider-Man 2), but that’s not always gonna translate into sales - see the incredibly good and insanely low selling Beyond Good And Evil for an example. Still, I have to admit that even thought the movie’s something that I MAY see on a bet if someone else pays, but depending on what other reviews of Catwoman: The Video Game have to say, I may very well give it a try… once it hits the clearance section, at least.
