Travel Channel’s Marvel Super Heroes’ Guide to New York City

For those of you who don’t yet know, this weekend on the Travel Channel there’s going to be a special highlighting the Marvel Comics’ NYC. I’m not sure how asinine the actual show is going to be based on the description they have online (”Since the 1930s, New York City has been the home of comics and their creators. Follow the thrilling exploits of Spider-Man and his comic book cohorts while revealing the real-life New York landmarks that inspired their stories.”), but the commercial I saw last night was pretty cool in a totally goofy sort of way. Lots of Spider-Man covers and art panned over by the camera, as well as some DD, FF and other superheroes. If I’m home conserving money this weekend, I’ll try to tune in.
They’ve created a nice little flash site to promote the special, well worth taking a few minutes to click around and have some fun.
The show airs August 15th at 8:00 PM and again at 11:00 PM. It’ll probably be rerun constantly over the next month, too.

I really want to see this, because they filmed footage for it at Midtown comics when me and my friends were there for an autograph signing for Amazing Spider-man #500. I hear that I’m in the show :)
