Marvel’s Ultimate Milkshake Slammers

Whilst browsing the dairy section of the neighborhood Ralph’s earlier this week, I came across yet another piece of Marvel’s ancillary income. Seems they’ve managed to wrangle another deal out of the whole “Ultimate” thing, even though they’re using artwork of the regular Marvel Universe versions of the characters. Sitting next to all the Nestl? and Hershey’s milkshake bottles were Hulk, Captain America and Daredevil/Elektra emblazoned Slammers: Ultimate Milkshakes. Some company called Bravo! Foods is using the Marvel licensing machine to guarantee themselves some shelf space, and it seems to be working - not a lot of any Marvel flavors were left by the time I got to them. Each bottle not only features some fine art (which I hope kicks a few pennies back to the original artists) from Quesada, Keown, Cassaday, etc., but the drinker is also treated to small origin recaps and health info.
As for the taste, they’re OK. A little too sweet and thick for my personal palette, though your milage may vary. Probably the most offputting aspect of this dairy treat is the coloring. Captain America features a Blue Vanilla theme (red, white & BLUE VANILLA according to the label), while DD’s is a Dark Strawberry flavor with a pink color. The Hulk’s is the most disturbing, giving you a Cookies & Green flavor with an algae-green coloring that was somewhat unsettling.
At any rate, click the pic below to see what you may or may not want to be looking for on your next grocery trip.
