Andrew pointed this out to me this morning, along with his confilction of feeling kind of leery about Barnes and Noble’s continuing deals with publishers, and the desire to buy a lot of the cool stuff they have coming out of said deals. I agree - if I didn’t already have the Ultimate Spidey hardcovers, I’d be in for the oversized B&N version that holds the first 3 regular editions. As it is, I think I may end up grabbing a copy of this in a few weeks, especially if I can find out if they plan on doing this for the rest of the series.

How can I turn this down? It may kind of suck for the local comic shop, but it’s really not much different than, say, Dynamic Forces offering a limited edition hardcover on their website…except that this isn’t priced to fleece fools and uber-fans.
