Batman Begins: The Game

I’m sure this has been discussed and dissected to death over the last 2 weeks, but hey, I’ve been out of the loop and really didn’t have a chance to read the article until now. Seems the latest issue of GameInformer (available at your local GameStop store) has an extensive article on the upcoming Batman Begins video game. Now, a while a lot of the article deals with all the technical aspects of the game, polygons and engines, etc., but there’s still plenty of good geek-out material as well. Specifically, there’s this:
In the game, there is a meter that shows your reputation in the city. The more fear created, the more commanding the threat of Batman is, and the more fear his appearance causes.
“In other games, you’re always on the receiving end of fear. In this, you are the one to fear.”
That’s too cool for words. If they manage to pull this off, it’ll be the first Batman game to actually understand and create a true Batman-like experience. Not saying it’s a gimme, but it’s always good when the developers and creators seem to actually grasp the concepts of the comic books and characters they’re adapting and working with.
Oh, and another cool thing, in addition to the screenshots and stuff, is the page with photos of the actors from the movie, along with short bios for their characters. Grab a copy - well worth the 3 or 4 bucks.
