Natalie Portman’s been officially announced as the female lead in the Machowski-produced adaptation of Alan Moore’s V For Vendetta, due out later this year. Sure, the poster looks great, but I have no idea how in the hell they figure they’ll shoot, edit, promote and release an entire feature length, big-deal movie in less than 11 months, but apparently they’re going to try. I suppose that a quick and dirty editing process may actually enhance the movie, considering the storyline and setting and all, but with Los Bros. Wachowski involved, it’ll surprise me. Especially since they’re just producing it and some guy, James McTeigue, is cutting his directoral baby teeth on this puppy. He’s got First Assistant Director experience, but when your last 4 films are the 2 Matrix sequels and 2 Star Wars prequels, a fella’s got to worry some.
