WE3

After reading the third and final installment of Morrison and Quitely’s mini-masterpiece, I’m actually a bit shook up. I may be a bit more sensitive to this than most people right now, but the ending of WE3 had me physically tearing up and smiling like an idiot, simultaneously. I have a dog that’s getting up there in years, and recently, Silhouette’s been showing her age. I’ve found myself missing her even though she’s not gone yet, and any time something makes me think about that, I have a moment of complete sadness. I’ve always been a sucker for animal stories, and have no shame in admitting that Where The Red Fern Grows and Old Yeller are among the few novels that I’ve finished reading through a blur of tears. WE3 managed to do that for me in a way that no comic has ever managed.
WE3 is the story about a rabbit, a cat and a dog who have been turned into cybernetic killing machines. And it’s easily the best mini series of the last several years. That’s my review, take it or leave it.
