In case you haven’t heard of it yet, there’s a strip that’s been running online for almost a year now that manages to use the art of fumetti to create stories that are way funnier than most similar attempts. Alien Loves Predator is the brainchild of one Bernie Hou, resident New Yorker and talented funnyman. It’s basic premise is simple: A Predator and Alien just so happen to be roomates in NYC. Hilarity ensues. The reader laughs. No, really, the reader actually does laugh. Once I stumbled across the strip a few weeks back, I went through the archives and read each installment, coming across several that genuinely had me laughing out loud, not merely “LOLing”. The use of Alien and Predator action figures, photoshopped backgrounds and random pop-culture icons combined with Hou’s impeccable comic timing and reverance for no sacred cow have generated one of the few genuinely hilarious strips on the net.
