Everyone that got all excited about Revenge Of The Sith when they saw the trailer during The OC a week or so ago might just want to dim those expectations down a notch or two. I hope that the fight scenes and special effects look less like a PS2 game and than the last 2, at least, but it’s gonna take an act of god - or a Rotten Tomatoes rating of over 85% - to get me to pay to see this one after what I’ve seen in the last half decade. To be fair, Attack Of The Clones is way more fun to watch on an HD TV, since it brings out the rubber monster effect so much that it’s like I’m back in college watching USA Up All Night, albeit without Gilbert or Rhonda to keep me company.

Lucas offered a preview Thursday of his final “Star Wars” chapter, which spells out the last dark steps the once goodhearted young Anakin Skywalker takes to become the villain Darth Vader.

“It’s not like the old ‘Star Wars,’ ” Lucas told theater owners at the ShoWest convention. “This one’s a little bit more emotional. We like to describe it as ‘Titanic’ in space. It’s a tearjerker.”
