I may not be a huge Aimee Mann fan (not that there’s anything wrong with her music), but her people have come up with a pretty cool way to promote her new album. You click on the link and a big ol’ Quicktime Player window opens, streaming the entire album to your machine. On top of that, the visual presentation mimics the liner notes from a CD, and you can skip from one song to the next with just a click. Sure, if you really want to you could figure out a way to rip the tracks and skip the CD, but that’s gonna happen no matter what. As promo tools go, this is a pretty innovative one and a nice alternative to just listing a handful of mp3s on a webpage.
