If you live in NYC, you’re lucky, ’cause tonight at Kid Robot, the Gorillaz will be holding a signing session to promote their new album and new limited edition vinyl figures. Now, I’m already pretty much on the hook to order an import copy of the new album, but this is killing me. These figures just look so goddamn awesome, I’ve found myself spending the better part of the last thirty minutes trying to come up with a justification to buy them that my wife will accept. So far the best I have is “But honey, these are the next best thing to Tank Girl action figures!” Not the most convincing arguement, I admit, but it’s the best I’ve got right now.

UPDATE: My wedding anniversary came early this year. I was given the OK to order a set of these bad boys as my anniversary gift. Now I just need to come up with something suitable in return.
