Manga Continues To Rule The Market

ICV2 reports that for the fourth week in a row, Viz’s Full Metal Alchemist is at the top of Bookscan’s graphic novel bestseller’s list. Dark Horse’s Revenge of the Sith adaptation is still the biggest selling graphic novel of the year so far, but 4 weeks is the longest any one title has remained on top. In addition, the remaining 8 spots in the top ten are dominated by various manga titles now that Sin City fever seems to finally be on the wane, and of the top 50, 39 titles are manga. It seems pretty obvious by now that DC’s seriously managed to bungle their CMX manga line, since they aren’t even making a dent in this lucrative area of the market.
