Seriously, what’s Todd McFarlane doing heading up a public appearance talking up graphic novels? Not to talk bad about the guy - I’ve never found myself having any real feelings of animosity towards him, quite frankly - but when’s the last time he had anything to do with an actual OGN? It’s just kind of…bizzare. Of all the pros willing to talk about this stuff, he’d have been near the bottom of my “go to” list.

“One of things I want to get at is, What is the definition of a graphic novel?” McFarlane said.

“I think for a lot of different people the term has become malleable. I think to the point that it’s even tripped over into trade paperback, and trade paperbacks are essentially reprinting five Superman comics.”
