Archie Belt Buckles Licensing Granted

So, what’s the big deal about someone licensing belt buckles featuring characters from the Archie line of comics? How about the licenser being a 14 year old girl. Marisa Rodriguez (and her mom) were just granted rights to manufacter and sell a line of belt buckles featuring classic characters and artwork from Archie’s library. Pretty freakin’ cool, though I think the $49.95 price point is a bit high.
Perhaps the youngest licensee of a major brand in the industry’s history, Marisa grew up reading Archie comics and with the creative input of her mom, Aurora, developed the Archie character belt buckles as a way to display her love for the Riverdale gang – while making a fashion statement that has quickly caught on with her friends at school.
In order to build her vision, Marisa and her parents approached Archie Comics Entertainment with samples of Marisa’s belt buckle designs, and immediately captured the company’s imagination and support.
“While Marisa’s youth was the first thing that impressed us, it was her imaginative designs and the quality of her extraordinary belt buckles that were the deciding factors in welcoming her aboard our family of Archie licensees,†said Herman.
