While it’s still in it’s early stages and has yet to really find a voice, the new Family Guy blog could have some potential. Once the various blogggers involved become familiar and comfortable with the idea of posting their thoughts and stories publically, I think we’ll get some interesting sotries and insights into the series. So far, the response to fans who are complaining that the show was funnier before they were cancelled the last time is my favorite.

Many of the fourth season shows that have been getting so much flack on this site were written 3 years ago as part of a partial pick up at the end of 3rd season.

I’m reminded of a story from my college years. My friend Susan and I were studying in my kitchen. I had poured a bit of Crispix cereal onto the table and we were eating them as munchies. I noticed that Susan was eating some of them but methodically pushing others aside. After a while, I asked what she was doing. She explained to me that she only liked the light ones.

“Really?” I said “Well, do you want some more?”

She nodded, so I turned over all of her discards one by one to reveal that they were all light on the opposite side. She has never truly lived that down.

I think of that incident whenever people post that this season doesn’t compare to 3rd season. Because so far, it basically HAS been 3rd season. It’s just been episodes from third season that you haven’t seen a million times over and fallen in love with yet.

Sorry to turn over the Crispix on you.
