If the Mini Disc had ever actually taken hold as a widespread form of media, then this might actually be a cool piece of equipment. I suppose some enterprising soul could mod it to store something else, install speakers in it, or whatever, but I’m not really sure it would be worth the time and effort.

Iwaya has also announced a Darth Vader mini-disc holder which measures 3 x 3 x 8″ and holds 20 discs in its stem cavity. Three plastic shelves may be used as storage receptacles or just stuff the discs in and pop the Darth helmet to eject the topmost mini-disc.
