Making Room For Baby

I’m guessing that a number of you have gone through this in the past, but this is the first time for me. It seems the wife and I have a little one on the way near the end of February, so the guest room/comic book storage facility needs some reworking since it’s about to become a nursery. Translation: a ton of comics just have to go.
So, I’ve spent the last week going through all my longboxes once, twice, narrowing down what I want to keep, what I NEED to keep, what I’ll be giving away and what I can sell. Then I’m going to go through them again in another month and trim things down once more. So far, I’m down a good 10 longboxes worth of books, I think, but that still leaves me with about 36 or so, plus a few shortboxes to boot. My end goal: 15-20 longboxes. We’ll see if I can do it - this is over 20 years of my life I’m trying to slice away at, after all.

If you want to see what this sort of purge does to a house, take a look at this Flickr slideshow. It’ll show you about 85% of my current nightmare.
Of course, I’m selling runs of the books on ebay, but if there’s something you’ve been absolutely looking for and haven’t been able to find, feel free to email me at smoovyg-at-gmail-dot-com or just post here in the comments thread. If I have it and want to clear it out, we’ll talk turkey, K?
