Does anyone really believe that slapping a new rating on a video game will stem the tide of kids playing “Vice City?” For god’s sake, most of these games are bought for kids by their parents in the first place. Look, with a child on the way I’m thinking about these things a little differently than I used to in the past. I think I like the idea of being able to program my TV to block channels or shows or block websites from my computer, but that’s up for me to decide. I don’t need “help” from some hack politician when it comes to choosing what I or my family can or cannot purchase. Ratings simply don’t work - when I was 12 years old, we were able to find plenty of porn and watch as many “R” movies as we wanted behind out parents’ backs. What makes these idiots think that today’s kids are less resourceful than we were?
I especially don’t appreciate this sort of bullshit when it’s inevitably going to lead to higher costs. Labelling video games specially for California? Yeah, that’s not going to end up costing me a couple of more bucks when “Ratchet And Clank: Apeshit Bazooka” comes out. Goddamn morons.
