There’s no arguing that the DOOM movie looks like a sack of hammered shit. However, they do tease you with some first person shooter perspective shots, so that’s mildly intriguing. And even though I know - I KNOW - in my heart that the flick will suck, it’s got 2 things going for it. The Rock and a teaser shot of a FPS sequence with a freaking chainsaw.

I actually think the Doom movie is going to be BETTER than the previews make it to be, they are really playing on the first person POV thing here- and while this might be an exploitive measure to shill a video game, it still is a great idea for a movie, in what has only been successfully done in some “special” TV episodes(one of the best MASH’s ever..as well as a Twilight zone episode I think….).
Plus I have been pleasantly surprised w/the “Rock”- the man can scene steal from travolta..ok..admittedly..not that hard lately. But I’m willin’ to wait for this one before I ask for my eight dollars back.

I just don’t get why they didn’t follow the plot of the videogame. It’s not that hard to dummy up Phobos and Diemos with computer graphics nowadays, and that gives the whole affair a logic and urgency.
This just looks like another damn bug hunt.

Where does the Doom movie take place? Is it based on Doom 1, 2 or 3? In this episode, we all wonder if this movie is based on Mars. Also, we wonder if they simply capture the game play and cut to The Rock a couple of times in the movie. Well , you gott…
