It’s looking like that may indeed be a possibility. Perhaps motivated by the massive fan campaign over the last few years to locate and splice in as much of the cut footage as possible, it’s apparently looking like Warner’s going to make a stab at doing it up all official-like. Rumor has it that there’s even a small possiblity that Richard Donner may be convinced to do the honors of restoring his own footage.
