EA’s definitiely got their work cut out for them now that their hype machine’s kicked into effect for their ‘Superman Returns’ tie-in. It’s one thing to make the same old promises about remaining true to the core concept of the character/comics, but their promo guy’s flat out stated that by playing this game, you’re gonna feel like you’re actually flying. WTF?
“We have assembled world class talent at EA Tiburon to deliver this blockbuster experience and we are thrilled to team up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics and have the opportunity to demonstrate our creative and technological expertise in the action/adventure category,” said Steven Chiang, vice president and studio general manager, EA Tiburon. “We are creating a game that allows players to experience a real sense of flying, and master Superman’s unrivaled super hero powers in order to save Metropolis. Only Superman can meet challenges of this scale.”

Steve, why do you hate Superman so much? Or, more importantly, why the hate for EA? NCAA Football 06 rules! YEAH!
(Note - I will likely not buy this game…LOL)

Murray, I hate EA for their monopoly of NFL licensed games. Madden is a good franchise but I loved Sega’s NFL2K series. With EPSN as it’s marquee and at a $20 opening price, it was becoming a more viable option. For me, EA’s stranglehold on the NFL just makes me want to puke.

Madden is still king though, But, much like real life, the NCAA product is far superior!
And let’s not fool ourselves - the greatest EVER NFL game was Techmo Bowl. Bo Jackson was unstoppable - he was lightning fast and could smush tacklers right into the turf. And who can forget the ambulance pulling onto the field to collect an injured player? Or that the same player left the hospital in full uniform when he was healthy? Or, the greatest play ever - throwing to Jerry Rice in triple coverage, and the 3 defenders would just fall to the wrath of Rice? Those were the days Britt - none of this fancy play-action hit stick bullshit!

Murray - You are so right. And I just saw that Tecmo is on a new x-box disc

Ideally, I would rather have the entire series of Tecmo on one disc since I’m not sure of the other games packaged with the disc> But $25 might be worth it for just the greatest football game of all time.
