Old School Metal From Early Man

Let’s face it, fellow metalheads; the last Metallica CD was underwhelming, to say the least. And with all of the nu metal influences that are permeating this cycle of hard rock, the possible return to classic head banging music looked pretty bleak (and The Darkness does not count, people).
That is until I heard Evil Is from a group called Early Man. Let me be the first one to tell you - this is the song that needed to be made. The riffs are strong and fraught with menace. And the lyrics reminded me of the old days of turning up the stereo and banging my head while playing either air guitar or air drums before it became belittled by god awful hair bands and an overzealous mainstream media. It’s hard to believe that this monstrous sound is coming from a two-piece band.
If you’re still interested, this song will be on their new release, slated for this upcoming Tuesday (October 10th), called Closing In on Matador Records, home to such alt groups like The New Pornographers, Interpol, Mission Of Burma, Pavement and Yo La Tengo. Man, thanks for the heads up on this. I read a review of it recently and it sounds FIERCE. A must buy.
P.S. Thanks for the High On Fire record. Those dudes shred.

Mr. Duncan, I couldn’t agree with you more - on both counts.
