DC Special The Return of Donna Troy #4 (of 4): I am a fan of Donna Troy, but I am not sure I buy what has transpired here. It seems a tad farfetched, so I am going to have to reserve judgment on the intent until Infinite Crisis transpires. Art wise, I am happy with Garcia Lopez and Perez and would like to see them do more in the DC Universe- together or separate.
Wonder Woman #221: Diana must fight past her doubts and kick some Omac butt in this Infinite Crisis tie-in. Greg Rucka has made Wonder Woman as complex and compelling as any writer in the past to take a shot at the Amazon Princess. As to her future- I hope they don’t reboot her completely as I really like what is happening now. Kudos to a great looking issue from cover to cover.
Powers #13: Bendis and Oeming are mad scientist geniuses. Powers never ceases to amaze me and this issue is no exception. The characterization is brilliant and the teamwork here is cohesive as can be. If you aren’t reading Powers, you are missing something special.
Rann-Thanagar War #6 (of 6): Holy Crap! Must go lie down now to digest this issue. From what I can tell Infinite Crisis is going to get ugly- I just hope they mean it. Between this and Adam Strange’s lead in mini-series, the outer space heroes are getting some new found respect.
Witchblade #90: Creative team Ron Marz and Michael Choi are doing a wonderful job on Top Cow’s signature title. Part two of “Fugitive gives a deeper glance into Sara’s partner and the history of the Witchblade. I am psyched to see what happens in issue 92, the 10 year celebration of the Witchblade series. Marz promises answers, and I know he will deliver.
Freshmen #3 (of 6): I am really losing interest in this title. Issue three didn’t keep the pace of the first issue, but I am hoping that it is all a warm up for the last couple of books. The best part right now is the covers.
Sorry to be so brief, but I am off to the Portland Comicon this weekend and wanted to share some thoughts before I went! Take care all!
