Anime Radio Launched

Not one to let cashing in on a current trend pass them by, AOL Radio’s just launched their Anime Radio, featuring music from all your favorite anime soundtracks. I know a lot of people enjoy this stuff, but even though I like a fair bit of anime myself, the only music I can stand to listen to over and over again is the ‘Cowboy Bebop’ soundtrack. All that other music just gets to the back of my brain after a while, and I start to see annoying little chibi bastards dancing around me, hammering me in the head with mallets. But to each their own.

“Anime is bigger than ever in the U.S., and the music that accompanies this popular Japanese animation is incredibly diverse and moving, said Pete Schiecke, a music director for the AOL Radio Network. “AOL Radio not only caters to the mainstream, but we also take pride in being the leader when it comes to creating new compelling radio stations targeted towards niche audiences. Our listeners asked for this channel, and we were excited to give it to them.

Anime Radio features music from popular shows including Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Hack, Samurai Champloo, Full Metal Alchemist and many more. The station was developed in response to listener demand following the hugely successful launches of the Video Game Scores station in May and the Japanese Pop station in July.

AOL Radio’s Anime Radio station is available 24/7 for fans, free on the web at AOL.com and www.aolmusic.com, as well as at AOL Keyword: Radio.
