Uh, yeah - totally didn’t see this coming, but hey. Green Day’s announced that they’re in the process of making an American Idiot movie. The band themselves won’t be appearing in the film, at least not in a starring role, but they will be active in the development and shooting.

Front-man Billy Joe Armstrong said: “I’m going to be involved in some of the writing and production for the movie, which will be like a mix of The Who’s albums and films, Tommy and Quadrophenia.”
