The Traveling Wilburys, the rock supergroup consisting of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison, will finally return to record store shelves.
According to an Entertainment Weekly interview with Tom Petty, the two long out-of-print Traveling Wilburys albums, 1988’s Vol. 1 and 1991’s Vol. 3, are set to be reissued in 2006. Also set for release is a special DVD containing rare footage of the Wilburys at work in the studio.
Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 is, in my opinion, one of the best albums ever made, and has been unavailable for far too long. Hopefully the reissue will garner the album the place in history it deserves.

Ah, yes. In college some friends of mine had a band that also found inspiration in the music of Harrison, Lynne, Petty, and Dylan.
They called their band “The Stationary Dingleberries”.

When me, my dad, my uncle, and my godfather jam on holidays, we call ourselves “The Traveling Schmuckleburys.”
