Transformers Movie Test Footage Online - Fake Or Genuine?

With the Transformers movie bearing down on us every day, it’s not a stretch to believe that the test footage making the rounds online may actually be legit. Even if it’s not genuine, it’s still an impressive clip. The only flaw in the footage is that there’s a human being involved. We know it’s an inevitable evil, but we continue to wish for a flesh-free two hours of pure robot carnage.

EDIT: The footage is in dispute, with ILM employees denying it’s legitimacy, but it’s still an impressive piece of footage. Check it out for yourself here.

It is a hoax. It has been on the net before, long before Dreamworks or ILM were brought in.
Also, Don Murphy himself has flat-out stated on his board that there is no real test-footage.

Wow — that looked really, really cool. Can Michael Bay transform into Stephen Speilberg? Cause then we’d really have something going.

I tried sending a trackback ping to you but it’s not working for some reason. Anyhow, just found your blog today and linked to your story, wanted to give you a heads’ up.

I heard Cloony is going to be the voice of prime. I really think that is very bad idea. What’s wrong with the original guy. Did he die or what.

Peter Cullen did the original voice, and he’s still alive and kickin’. Obviously he would be the best choice, but I’m sure the studio execs don’t think he’ll put enough asses in the seats, so they’ll go with a big name cast. Whatever. Michael Bay is directing, so it’s gonna suck anyway.
