I know that some people automatically think of porno when they think of anime - I have a friend or two who falls into that category myself, but the fact is that the majority of anime titles are as sex-free as american animation. Someone forgot to tell that to the good people at amazon.com, though, as reported yesterday on the Consumerist. Seems that a search for “anime” turned up some “hentai” instead, which is the specific term for porno animation from Japan. We tried to recreate the experiement on our own (for research purposes only, of course), and while our results were more family friendly as far as actual movie titles listed, the first link in “related searches” uncovers a treasure trove of hentai titles. This could be quite the shocker for unsuspecting Pokemon purchasing parents, sort of the equivalent of clicking on a “related items” link when searching for Mickey Mouse and inadvertently ordering Fritz The Cat instead.
