Scramble Sonic’s Brain

I really, really love the concept of the Plug N Play system, but I’ve never actually bought one. Whenever I play them for any amount of time in the store, they eventually become rather unweildly and uncomfortable to hold, and I can’t imagine spending any great amount of time with them at home with my hand getting all raw. That doesn’t stop the companies from churning them out, and this Sega Sonic PNP is the latest to make me wonder if I shouldn’t just get one. With all 7 Sonic games, it’s really tempting, even if the game’s design does make it look like you’ve shoved a stirrer into Sonic’s eye so you can scrample his brains just so you can collect golden rings.

Just get the Sonic compilations for the GameCube dude. P.S. The 2-D Sonic that was recetly released for Nintendo DS is supposed to be among the best Sonic games ever.

It doesn’t get quite the nostalgia points Nintendo does (even from me!), but Sega Genesis ruled nonetheless.

Dan, that’s such a better idea then buying this, no matter how bright and shiny it is. Do they have a similar disc for the PS2?

Kind of…There are 2 comps: “Sonic Mega Collection” and “Sonic Gems Collection.” “Mega Collection” is available for PS2 ($19.99), but “Gems” might be a GameCube exclusive. I think one of them even has Vectorman as an unlockable bonus.

I was inspired by all this Sonic jib-jab and went out and got the Gems Collection for Gamecube. Comes with 3 Sonic console games (including the supposedly awesome Sonic CD, originally for Sega CD, which I’ve never played, cause who the hell played anything on the Sega CD), AND 6 Game Gear games.
