Where will all of the Never Nudes go?

Tonight, the lights go out on the Bluth home with a two-hour flame out of their last four episodes tonight at 8 PM on FOX. If you’ve never watched Arrested Development before, then I directly blame you as the reason that the show was canned after this season. If you watched once or more, I thank you. If you were a regular/die-hard watcher like yours truly, just take comfort in knowing that you were one of the few people in the great country of ours who actually “got” it. That and the fact that the Season 3 DVD set will probably be out by Memorial Day.
Here’s the final synopsis:
In four back-to-back episodes, George Sr. hires a new attorney who asks the Bluths to participate in a mock trial to help prepare them for the real thing. The attorney gets actor Judge Reinhold, to preside over the mock case. Meanwhile, Buster fakes a coma to get out of testifying and George Michael and Maeby participate in a mock wedding to entertain hospital patients. Back at the office, Michael discovers he may have a long-lost sister named Nellie Bluth. In an effort to get to the bottom of things, Michael tracks Nellie down and hires her as a consultant for The Bluth Co. Unfortunately, Michael discovers Nellie’s hands-on approach is more than he bargained for.
Meanwhile, Gob goes to Iraq to perform his Christian magic act on the USO tour and ends up incarcerated. Michael learns George Sr. sent Gob to Iraq to burn down the model home he built there, so Michael and Buster fly to Iraq to spring Gob from prison. The Bluth brothers head to the model home, where they make a discovery that could end the family’s legal troubles forever. Back in Orange County, Lucille decides to throw a yacht party to celebrate. The Bluths gather aboard the Queen Mary for a trip that ends up being far from smooth sailing on the “Faking It/Family Ties/Exit Strategy/Development Arrested†episodes of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Friday, Feb. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

What if you are a person who watched more than 5 times, but could never finish an episode because it was total garbage?
The frustrating thing, is the cast is probably the most talented cast on TV. Jeffery Tambor alone is more talented than entire casts combined (I’m looking at you, CSI shows). That is the most disappointing thing about the show. Wasted talent.

Not seen the finale yet, but I made damn sure the DVR was catching it for later.
T, I hear what you’re saying, and I know you know from funny, but I’m always amazed that you didn;t get AD. I don’t think it’s the greatest show ever, but damned if I don’t lose my shit at least once an episode. Frankly, I think it’s amazing what they got away with on a network show, and think it would have been even funnier if they hadn’t been inhibited by over the air rules. Still hoping Showtime bails the Bluths out at the last second.

I found the line at the end about ” Maybe a movie?” quite heartening; the show’s long, twisty story arcs might work better if compressed into tight little packages. (I do think that was the major reason the show never caught on; if you didn’t watch regularily, it was almost impossible to follow.) (Of course, if you DID watch regularily, it all just got funnier and funnier…)

Amazing show. But if you miss an episode, you’re in trouble. It definitely kick started my preference of watching TV on DVD.

Yeah, I guess that I totally slept on the fact that if you missed an episode that you might not get all of the hilarious references.
T - I thank you for at least trying to dig the show.
ctower - I think that the movie talk was more of a reference on how another cancelled FOX show (Firefly) found a new life on the big screen (Serenity).
