X-Men 3 May Indeed Suck

To quote Bob Odenkirk, “Why would God let this happen?!” I snagged this photo of X-Men 3’s Franken-Colossus from Aint It Cool News. What is there to say? The makeup and costume design are laughable, and my early hope for the film (initial hype said the script was very good, though I’ve stayed away from spoilers completely) is fading fast. Aint It Cool has another ghastly photo up of some of the film’s villains strolling through a suburban neighborhood, and they also suggest that the script ain’t all it was cracked up to be. Where’s Bryan Singer when you need him?

A friggin metal mask? What is he, Doom? This has to be a joke. A very bad one. Why can’t the studio use the technological advances that are so prevelant during this day and age of CGI? This isn’t the 80s, for God’s sake! I can’t wait to see the train wreck that will be Dr. Frasier Crane. Oops sorry, Dr. Henry McCoy.

haha I know — he looks like Dr. Doom meets Frankenstein. Are we sure there wasn’t some weird 80s body/mind switcheroo, and Joel Schumacher is really in Bret Ratner’s body?

What was wrong with Colossus in the last movie?

Not stupid-looking enough.

I agree with T Unit. I don’t see why they couldn’t use the same Colossus from X2 (which, from the sound of things, will remain a far superior film to the third). Bryan Singer and Sam Raimi are the only ones who can do a truly good comic movie. Everything else is mediocre or crap by comparison.

you ignorant people. it is the same colossus as the last and the photo above is obviously a fake. there’s “gullible” written on your monitor.

Actually it says “Dell” on my monitor. But anyway, that is in fact from X3 — Brett Ratner admitted to it in a new Wizard interview, but he did say that it’s from test footage, so perhaps Colossus won’t be looking as effing dumb as we thought.
