Marvel Providing Free Teaching Aids To Schools

I was in an OfficeMax the other day, when I noticed a POP display for a Superhero Of The Year contest for schoolteachers. The poster was covered in Marvel characters (with Ron Lim on art), so it immediately drew my attention, natch, and when I looked it up online, I was surprised to find that Marvel’s apparently been supplying schools with free teaching materials for years. And I wondered, why the hell doesn’t Marvel promote this aspect of their work better? I knew that they were constantly publishing free PSAs disguised as comics - I still have my Spidey/Power Pack child molestation issue around the house somewhere, as well as their team-up against smoking - but I had no idea that Marvel had an entire company that produced free teaching aids.
Cover Concepts, a division of Marvel Enterprises, has been providing FREE materials to over half the nation’s schools since 1989. Cover Concepts works in tandem with administrators and teachers to distribute sponsored materials such as book covers, educational comics, teacher’s guides, posters, bookmarks, specialty paks to name a few.
As America’s largest resource for FREE classroom materials, Cover Concepts reaches 30 million kids in grades K-12, 1.2 million kids in daycare centers, 5 million kids in libraries and 750,000 kids in summer camps nationwide.
