Batman Beyond Of The Future?

Batman Of The FutureCan anyone explain why Toonami, the UK version of Cartoon Network (not to be confused with the US’s Toonami which is a block of anime that runs in the evenings), has renamed “Batman Beyond” “BATMAN OF THE FUTURE”? Is there something inherently and exclusively American about the way “Batman Beyond” sounds? Did some sort of market research show that Brits prefer more words in their television show titles? Seriously, can someone explain this to me? I don’t get it.

Actually, when the show was run up here in Canada, a handful of episodes had opening credits with this “BATMAN OF THE FUTURE title- just a few, near the end of the run.And multi-lingual toy packaging gave the show, among other titles, BATMAN 2040.(I vaguely recall an early announcement of the show using the title BATMAN TOMORROW). Of course, all of this just makes it even MORE confusing, so maybe I should just shut up before Warners decides I “know too much”…

The UK showing of “Lois and Clark” was renamed “The Adventures of Superman : Lois and Clark”. Didn’t stop it from being pants though
