Good news for us still using almost-passe video game consoles, Electronic Arts is slashing the price on their highly anticipated Godfather game. Yep, THAT Godfather. Wow, guess I should’ve made a stupid-ass “offer us nerds can’t refuse” joke for the headline or something…

Anyway, “The Godfather” is due in stores 3/21. Hope this thing is good!:

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 21 â€â€? In a sign of the video game industry’s continuing struggles, Electronic Arts said on Tuesday that it planned to sell its much-awaited Godfather video game next month for $39.95, which is 20 percent less than it typically prices new games.

The discount strategy is the latest disappointment for Electronic Arts surrounding the game, which is based on the Godfather movie and book, and which the company spent $10 million to $20 million to develop in hopes of creating a blockbuster.
