Insanity!

I can sum up Day 2 of the New York Comic-Con in two words: Cra-zy! I showed up at about 9:45 to set up the DK booth, and there were easily thousands of people already in line to get in (thanks to my Exhibitor Pass, I walk right in. It’s like a Nerd EZ-Pass. Boo-yah!). Original estimates for the entire 3-Day attendance were 20,000; by 1pm, just two hours after the show opened, people were being turned away at the door. Unlike yesterday, which had an almost leisurely feel in retrospect, today was louder, busier, and the aisles got really, really crowded. It was still fun, but only hardest of the die-hard were gonna make it into this thing. Word of advice for next year (and judging by the turnout, there will be a next year): GO ON FRIDAY. Onto some photos!

Lego Monster

I don’t know what this thing was, but I found it oddly engaging. There’s also a badass Lego Batman in the main lobby.

Crazy

Want the thrill of sitting in traffic mixed with the occasional God-awful wiff of Comic Fan B.O.? You’ve come to the right place!

Tom Defalco

The very cool Tom Defalco (when fans approaching saying, “We’re not worthy!”, Defalco replied, “No, you’re not!”) signed autographs in the DK booth from 1-3pm. He wrote the (and I say this as unbiasedly as possible) excellent Spider-Man Ultimate Guide, Avengers Ultimate Guide, and Fantastic Four Ultimate Guide for DK.

Dark Horse Booth

The Dark Horse booth. I didn’t feel like wading through the sea of nerds to actually get there.

Endor, Ho!!

First lesson of Comic-Con: never trust a Comic Fan to properly frame a photograph! Thanks for nothin’ dude. Me, Han, and Andrew.

And that does it for today’s adventures. Good luck to thee, brave reader, if you not only try to get in to the Con on Sunday, but actually do.
