It’s been years since Dreamwave reintroduced the Autobots and Decepticons to the world via the printed page, but it’s gonna be IDW that will be long remembered for breathing new life into the old concept if these preliminary sketches and descriptions are any indication. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the ones that are the best. In this case, IDW is applying the “What If”/”Elseworlds” paradigm to the Robots In Disguise. The first series springing out of the Evolutions line is “Hearts of Steel,” a story featuring Transformers hitting earth around the time of the Industrial Revolution.
