You knew it was going to happen, but damn, this is quick. FOX has announced that they’re following in ABC’s wake by streaming much of their lineup online. I’ll probably never fully understand all the numbers they spewed forth in the Washinton Post piece, but Reuters has the breakdown here. Suffice it to say, we’ll most likely be seeing FOX’s biggest shows online the day after they air on TV.
The revenue-sharing agreement allows Fox to make 60 percent of its prime-time schedule available online the morning after the shows air, the Journal reported.
The formula is complex, but stations essentially will get a 12.5 percent cut after costs, the paper also reported.
