Laugh if you will, but the trailers for the upcoming WWE/Lions Gate horror flick, “See No Evil” have been pretty decent. Of all the wrestlers to plug into the role of a mass murdering psychopath, Glen Jacobs‘ Kane certainly makes the most sense, and judging by the previews, he’s got the on-screen presence to pull it off if the script is even halfway entertaining. The movie certainly has a lot going for it - Lions Gate has had recent success in the horror genre with the Saw franchise, the character’s name has frnachise written all over it (Jacob Goodnight) and the audience doesn’t seem to be diminishing as far as slasher flicks go.

Of course, the WWE (aka Vince McMahon) just can’t leave well enough alone. Rather than just run promos for the movie during Raw and Smackdown, with perhaps an interview here and there, or a behind the scenes look at their potential movie franchise, they’ve decided to take the route of making the character of Kane go crazy during the show. So far viewers have been treated to Kane hearing voices in his head (which are helpfully piped over the airwaves), turning on his tag team partner, and linking the movie’s opening date to some mysterious, painful day in Kane’s past.

It’s not gonna hurt the movie’s box office or turn anyone off to it, I don’t think, but it is funny in a painfully bad sort of way. I’ll be adding more clips as the WWE airs them - they’re too amusingly terrible to ignore.

Trailer 1, with the voices in Kane’s head being piped out to the audience is here, and the second trailer, along with the announcers being afraid to even mention the movie’s launch date is here.
