I guess that Sony’s serious about making the PSP a standalone console. Frank Miller’s “300″ has been optioned for a movie tie-in that’s to be created solely for PSP play, which seems oddly limiting as far as money making potential is concerned.
Frank Miller, the pioneering artist who helped reinvent the Batman franchise and whose 2005 Sin City film adaptation has grossed $99 million worldwide, has been tapped for two Warner projects that will bow next year: an adaptation of 300, Miller’s 1999 graphic novel about the Battle of Thermopylae; and a new PlayStation Portable game from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, based on the same title.
The game, “300: March to Glory,” is in development with Collision Studios; the film, also called 300, will be directed by Dawn of the Dead helmer Zack Snyder.
