I’m not sure about the accuracy of the one dude having the Batman movie rights in 1979 and then sitting on them until “Batman” came out ten years later, but stranger things have happened. Either way, this is some sort of business article about the two guys behind Comic Book Movies, a Hollywood development company. It seems that most of their focus is on bringing various manga products to the big screen, but they claim to have a number of projects they’ll be announcing at this summer’s SDCC.

Some might think they’re an odd couple. A thirty-something financier from Alabama and a comic book writer who bought the rights to Batman in 1979.
Far from being a mismatched pair, Jack Roberts and Michael Uslan, the principals behind Comic Book Movies, are a perfect match. The two met at a charity event, where they hit it off and became immediate friends. Jack Roberts had established himself at an early age in the banking world at Chase Manhattan Bank. Michael Uslan was the visionary behind the Batman films, bringing the legendary character to the big screen. Soon after their friendship began, they discovered a shared interest in intricate business endeavors, as well as comic books and Japanese culture. Soon after, they formed Comic Book Movies (CBM).
