We talked about the Jon Favreau “Iron Man” announcement last week, and over the weekend, Avi Arad and MArvel let loose with a storm of new movie news. Seems that Marvel’s attracting quite a few Hollywood players to their party, with the first of this group expected to hit the big screen sometime in 2008. So far we have…
Zak Penn writing the Hulk sequel. Penn’s already got Marvel cred with writing experience on X2, X3 and the FF flick.
David Self, who wrote the screenplay for “Road To Perdition” is writing Captain America. He’s also written the screenplays for Namor and Deathlok, so Arad must really like his work.
Edgar Wright is to be directing as well as co-writing Ant Man’s flick. Wright’s past experience includes directing “Shaun Of The Dead,” which leads me to believe he’s a pretty good choice for a movie that’s got to be somewhat tongue in cheek.
The Nick Fury movie is back on, with “Air Force One” and “End Of Days” writer Andrew Marlowe penning the script.
Finally, the dude that wrote this summer’s “Posiedon” remake, as well as the trippy-as-hell “The Cell,” Mark Protosevich, is taking control of Thor.
