“Transformers” Movie Is (Most Likely) Going To Suck

I fully expect the robot action to kick ass, but the movie as a whole is looking less and less appealing with the news that there’s a love story involved. Note to Dreamworks: Are you fucking high? Nobody - NOBODY - is going to go see a Transformers flick for the romance! If this is an attempt at increasing your audience by appealing ot the female demographic, man, are you delusional. A “love interest.” WTF, man?
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Megan Fox will play Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in “Transformers,” a live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes and ships.
The DreamWorks project, which has a July 4, 2007, release date, is scheduled to start shooting this month in Los Angeles. Michael Bay is directing. Fox’s credits include “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” and the TV series “Hope & Faith.”

I don’t think you have to worry about this, dude. I would imagine “love interest” in this case means “stand around and look pretty.”
Hey, it’s not like this thing was going to be a work of art in the first place. Although Bay’s car chase from Bad Boys II is criminally underrated…

I heard people talk about that car chase for about a year. I finally saw it, and that’s when I got INSANELY bored and turned off the movie. Still never seen the end.
I seems overrated to me. And still not as good as Bullit or French Connection.

Michael Bay directing = automatic suckiness, love interest or not. And I hear they’re not getting Peter Cullen to do the voice of Prime! For th elove of God! Andrew, back me up here — they need his voice.
