CBS has decided to answer ABC’s recent decision to stream some of their primetime lineup online for free with their own streaming video website, named “innertube.” Overall, it looks fairly underwhelming, to be honest. At this point, they aren’t streaming actual episodes of their shows, and I have no idea whether the clips and behind the scenes stuff posted is any good since neither the Windows Media Player files nor the RealPlayer files want to play nice with my Mac. Really, after clicking through a few menus and reading the descriptions, it looks more like a bunch of things that would have been just as effective a promotional tool if CBS had just posted them on YouTube rather than spending time and money building a website around them. Hopefully they’ll add some actual epsiodes soon, and fix that pesky format compatability issue.
