Futurama’s Future Home On FOX?

Rumor has it that FOX will be announcing the return of Futurama next season at this week’s up-fronts. They’re already producing new episodes for Adult Swim, so it wouldn’t take much to pull a “Monk” and just re-run them on FOX at a later date. There doesn’t seem to be any indication of this affecting the four direct to DVD movies thay’re already working on, either.
There also was speculation that Fox was looking to resurrect the animated series “Futurama,” from “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening, on its Sunday lineup the same way that “Family Guy” was brought back last year. The network has an option for new episodes, which currently are being produced for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim late-night block.

There are no new episodes of Futurama being produced for or by the Cartoon Network or anyone else. All there are is 4 direct-to-DVD movies planned, and even that hasn’t been confirmed by Fox. Everything else is just rumor mongering.
