Word is circulating around the Net that Nintendo shocked E3 attendees today by announcing Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii, the next installment of their mega-popular Super Smash Bros. franchise. The real surprises though are the playable characters; in addition to Nintendo’s usual lineup of mascots, it appears that Pit from the NES classic Kid Icarus and Metal Gear’s Solid Snake will be selectable in the game.
